I have been looking around for a new camera as mine is getting a bit dated. Having had my Nikon D40 for some time I have been fairly impressed with the functionality of the camera and the quality of the pictures so was considering getting another Nikon. The Nikon D5000 is one that caught my eye and looking online it seems to get fairly good reviews having an impressive four and half stars out of a possible five on average. I’m still not sure if its the one I will end up purchasing but it does certainly help to do your research online and see what others are saying about the product before making the final decision.

According to this article Vauxhall have introduced a lifetime warranty on its new cars. The warranty will apply on any Vauxhall which is registered from August 2010. In order to maintain the lifetime warranty owners will need to visit a Vauxhall retailer every year for a free vehicle inspection.

beans_1688220f I am not a great fan of beans but was interested to see that Heinz are now selling its beans in a jar. Whilst the jar will not be replacing the traditional can the new plastic container is something of a departure from the can we expect to see. The 1kg jar contains the equivalent of two and half tins and has been introduced mainly for practical reasons. It is resealable so that people who only want to use half the pack can easily store the rest in the fridge.

Kellogg’s have announced they will cut the salt content of it’s cereals by 15%. The move comes as a response to campaigning by health groups. It will mean that by this time next year it will remove 15% of sugar in all of its Coco Pops cereals reducing the sugar content to one and a half teaspoons a serving. The sugar will also be replaced with starch from grains and glucose syrup and no artificial sweeteners will be used.

Tesco have launched an offer where customers will be able to claim double Clubcard points. The scheme which is called the Big Clubcard Voucher Exchange will mean that customers can double the value of their points by exchanging them for vouchers in stores. Customers will shortly receive their latest Clubcard vouchers in the post but for a limited period they will be able to exchange these in store for double the value. So if you receive a £5 voucher you will be able to exchange it for one worth £10. The vouchers can then be redeemed as usual instore or online. The scheme runs until the 5th of the September.

Asda has issued a recall of some of its baby clothing over fears that it could cause a choking risk. The products affected are from the George Baby Basics range and include the 3 Pack Sleep Suit and the 7 Pack Body Suit which cost £6 each. The problem is with the transfer on the front of the clothing which can come unstuck after washing posing a coking threat to babies who could put it into their mouths. It is thought that thousands of the suits have been sold across the UK before a complaint was made in June.

Perfume is always great as a gift but it can be little expensive buying it on the high street. I came across this website www.discountfragrance-online.co.uk that has some really good prices. They have a wide range of fragrances including my favourite Dkny Delicious which usually retails for around £30. Buying online, however, saves me more than £5. Some of the more popular brands have even bigger savings. Cool Water for Women for example has a saving of 26.6% off the retail price and Elizabeth Arden Green Tea Scent Spray is half the price you would pay on the high street. Most of the products are available on Special Next Day Delivery so if you have forgotten someone birthday and need a gift quickly this certainly seems to be the place to go.

According to this article as many as one in every 36 £1 coins could be fake. The figures come as the Royal Mint reveals nearly two million counterfeit £1 coins were returned to them in the last financial year. The Royal Mint is now launching a campaign telling people how to spot fakes. Some signs that you might have a fake coin include a poorly defined ribbed edge and an indistinct design of the Queen. The coin may also be out of alignment. The Queen’s head should be alignment with the pattern on the reverse of the coin when you spin it around. There are various measures used by the banks and the Post Office to take fake coins out of the system before they reach the consumer and it is estimated financial institutions handle more than three billion £1 coins a year. I wonder how many people look that carefully at the £1 coins in their change, I know I probably don’t.

If you are on diet and find it hard to count calories when you eat out, then one restaurant chain has the answer. The Real Greek has become one of the first restaurant chains to start adding the calorie count to their menus. Whilst not everyone may want to know the amount of calories their food contains the move has so far proved popular with their customers and many of their low calorie options are proving to be more popular. Even bottles and glasses of wine have the calorie content listed.

A Burger King advert has been banned by the Advertising Standards Authority because it shows the burger as bigger than the real thing. The Advertising Standards Authority came to the conclusion after buying three burgers and finding that their thickness and overall height was much less than that shown in the TV advert. It has since ruled that the advert should not appear again in its current form.
